Connect your PrestaShop shop
About five minutes. You create a Webservice key in your back office and paste it into Pridly. Nothing is installed on your shop.
In plain words: PrestaShop's Webservice is a service window that lets programs ask your shop for data, such as “list this week's orders”. A key is the password for that window. You decide what the key may do, and you can delete it any time. Example: Lucas, who runs a wine shop in Lyon, makes a key that can read his orders and products, and later lets it change prices too.
What you need
- A PrestaShop shop that uses https:// (PrestaShop 1.7, 8 or 9).
- Access to your shop's back office (the admin area).
- A free Pridly account: sign in with your email.
Step 1. Switch the Webservice on
- Open your back office and go to Advanced Parameters → Webservice.
- Set Enable PrestaShop's webservice to Yes and click Save.
Step 2. Create the key
- Click Add new webservice key.
- Click Generate next to “Key”, and write Pridly in the description. Leave Status on Yes.
- In the permissions table, choose what Pridly may do (see below), then click Save.
- Copy the key: 32 letters and numbers.
Which boxes to tick
View only (safest start): tick All in the View (GET) column. Pridly can then answer questions but cannot change anything.
With changes: also tick All in the Modify (PUT), Add (POST) and Delete columns. If you prefer exact boxes, these are the ones Pridly uses:
| Resource | View | Modify | Add | Delete |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| products, combinations, stock_availables | ✓ | ✓ | ||
| orders | ✓ | ✓ | ||
| order_histories | ✓ | ✓ | ||
| cart_rules (discount codes), specific_prices (timed discounts) | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | |
| order_details, customers, addresses, categories, languages, currencies, configurations, order_states | ✓ |
Step 3. Connect it to Pridly
- Open https://app.pridly.gridlypaper.com/stores.
- Type your shop address (for example
https://myshop.com), paste the key and click Connect my shop. - You should see: ✓ Connected to Lucas Vins — 214 products, 1,083 orders, languages: FR, EN.
Step 4. Add Pridly to Claude and ask
Add the connector with this address: https://mcp.pridly.gridlypaper.com/mcp, sign in with the same email, then try: “Use Pridly to give me a weekly check of my shop.”
If something goes wrong
| “The Webservice is switched off” | Do Step 1 again and make sure you clicked Save. |
|---|---|
| “PrestaShop's API wasn't found” | Turn on Friendly URLs in Shop Parameters → Traffic & SEO. Your host must also allow URL rewriting (an .htaccess file). Ask your host if unsure. |
| “PrestaShop refused our key” | Copy the key again (no spaces). Check that its status is Yes. Some hosts hide the sign-in header: Pridly tries both ways automatically; if it still fails, ask your host to allow it. |
| “Your key can't read …” | Open the key and tick View (GET) for the resources named in the message. |
| “This key is view-only” | That is how you set it up. To allow changes, open the key and tick Modify, Add and Delete as shown above. |
| “Your shop address must start with https://” | Turn on SSL in Shop Parameters → General (and ask your host for a certificate). Pridly refuses to send a key over an insecure connection. |
| “Your shop took longer than 20 seconds” | Your hosting may be slow. Try again; if it keeps happening, ask your host. |
